The impact of the AI disruption of higher education continues to evolve and we are updating content as we learn more. This course represents a curated repository of inputs from a range of sources, disciplines, and stakeholders. The experiences, examples, and emphasis of the course is on faculty and students, and it is being created in collaboration with both. We do not position ourselves as experts on these matters, rather the course weaves expertise from a diverse range of faculty in order to provide a meaningful learning experience to a diverse range of learners. There are many interactive opportunities throughout the course to share your expertise and ideas. Our primary goal is to support you in thinking through the urgent questions that the AI disruption of higher education presents and to create opportunities for you to learn from and with others so that you are confident in supporting your students as we redesign our courses and navigate this shifting landscape together.

Plasma is a state of matter consisting of a collection of ionized particles, electrically neutral atoms, and molecules. It makes up more than 90% of the observable universe and underpins several high-tech manufacturing industries. Familiar forms of plasma include the sun, stars, lightning, neon signs, television screen displays, welder’s torches, and rocket exhaust. This course is intended to help you understand plasma processes and interactions in low-temperature plasma (LTP) environments. This knowledge can be used to develop new technologies for aerospace, manufacturing, medicine, agriculture, and food safety. Potential applications include superhard materials, prosthetics, and food disinfection.

In this free supplemental resource, you will have an opportunity to improve your readiness for success in introductory physics by reviewing and practicing mathematical concepts in physical contexts. Topics include graphing, solving systems of equations, and vectors. NOTE: This is a dual-enrollment resource intended to be used in conjunction with the lecture and lab during the first two (2) weeks of your introductory physics course.

This course will examine hunger as a complex issue of sustainable human development. Topics to be covered include root causes and consequences of both domestic and global hunger, as well as current responses and potential solutions. The course will also focus on helping participants develop a skill set for global citizenship that includes opportunities for advocacy, leadership, and critical thinking.
